Each of my books is fully written designed, illustrated and printed and bound by me.
The book form allows me to fully explore my narrative ideas and is one of the more unique media within art making in that it takes a certain quantity of time to fully realize the entire piece of art similar to film or moving around a piece of sculpture.
Books, by their nature, have the capacity to provide an intensely personal artistic experience to the viewer and it requires physical contact and interaction by the viewer and so the experience is an active one rather than passive.
These pieces require a great amount of time, energy and thought to complete and I daresay the final experience worthwhile, and as unique an artistic experience as you’re likely to have.
